About the Role
The Team Leader provides strategic and operational support to the State Program Lead in the coordination of recreational, mentoring and well-being programs. These programs have been developed to respond to the needs of young people who have faced significant and complex trauma or adversity/ disadvantage. It is the responsibility of the Team Leader to ensure the implementation of programs and the smooth running of these programs within the community. The Team Leader will support the State Program Lead in the design and development of future QLD Camps and play a significant role in building and maintaining relations with our program stakeholders.
Our Camps are run over weekends and during school holidays, some availability during these times is essential for this role. This role will suit someone creative, flexible, strong attention to detail with a great sense of play and fun.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Planning and organizing relevant sessions and resources for programs
Coordinating and supervising volunteers to assist in the program
Liaising with schools, other relevant external stakeholders in the planning of programs
Recruitment and training of volunteers
Ensure logistics are carried out for programs including setting up of sites and facilities
About You
To be successful in this position you will have the following:
Minimum Bachelor Degree related to Community development, Social welfare, Counselling, Outdoor recreation or other relevant area
Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role
Working with Children clearance
Current unrestricted Drivers licence
Apply First Aid certificate
Willingness and ability to travel from time to time
Willingness to work flexible hours in order to meet the demands of the role including weekend and evening work
Experience working within a volunteer scheme, volunteer based program or in a direct relationship with volunteers.
